This Weekend in Chicago April 18, 19 & 20th, 2008

sixteen, chicago, trump tower, restaurantThe weather has finally relented in Chicago and it looks like it is safe to venture out into the city again for some food and fun this weekend. Some tips for what is happening in Chicago this weekend:

1. Attilla the Fun is playing at the Cornservatory (yes that is corn) This comedy improv troupe brings in the funny with wild characters, twisted relationships and a very liberal dose of surrealism. Get tickets by calling 312-409-6435 for this Friday night show at 8pm.  Tickets are $10. The cornservatory is located at 4210 N. LINCOLN in Chicago, IL. There are shows weekly on Friday nights there for the next month. Check out the show!

2.Local jewelry sale at K.Amato in Lakeview. I have driven past this small boutique at 1229 W Diversey on my way to the lake many times. They specialize in reasonably priced fashion jewelry and bridal jewelry. The site online at K-amato.com is amazing, with very reasonably priced earrings from $30-60 dollars and a lot of cute reasonably priced necklaces as well. The store is holding an open house this weekend with a special extra 30% off. Take your friends over to get some new bling at a great price and keep her in mind for gifts and bridal parties when the next wedding season rolls around. (soon!)

3. New Restaurant Opening - ZED451 in River North. While Fogo and Brazazz were heating up Chicago downtown, ZED451 has gained a lot of popularity out in the Suburbs for the same kind of luscious Brazilian beef and all you can eat gourmet food bonanza. They are opening their new restaurant in River North (far enough away from the others to draw their own crowd yet still be downtown) and the city will like what it finds there. The new location is at 739 N. Clark St. Chicago, IL Call 888.493.3451 for reservations.

4. New Bar Opening in Trump Tower in Chicago -REBAR at the Mezzanine level at 401 N. Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL in the River North neighborhood. Call 312.588.8100 for more information. I get the feeling this is for the upscale and older set. I can’t think of Trump Tower as a place the young hipsters or urban profs would hang out. Expect an older crowd on weekends and a business crowd weekdays. You can always check it out after a dinner at the uber premium restaurant in Trump Tower, Sixteen.

5. Or if you are by the Lake this weekend walk downtown and back for the exercise and fun just because it is better weather again and spring time.

Have a great weekend!
