Chicago Nursing Jobs, Schools & Programs
Nursing is a hot area for jobs in Chicago. I have some family members that are nurses and they talk about how they can never find enough nurses to work all the shifts at the hospitals they work in. It’s a problem of more demand for Nurses than there are people trained for the job. It has been that way for a while and I see no end in sight as that giant baby boomer generation ages, a lot of health care related jobs will be the most secure and highest paying salary jobs you can get. I recommend this profession if you want job security and stability as well as great pay and wages for the next 20 years. A career in Nursing is also rewarding and enjoyable in addition to having a good salary and benefits.
If you are thinking of changing careers or just graduating from high school or college Nursing School can help qualify you for a nursing job and get you hired for a great hospital job. There are nursing schools associated with the City of Chicago Colleges as well as all the local Colleges and Universities. If you are from elsewhere in the Midwest you may find there are local schools there too. In Ohio, there is a school in Cincinnati specifically for Nursing LPN & RN degrees. They are expanding to Dayton and Columbus also. The LPN Program takes 44 weeks to complete (less than 1 year) and qualifies you to get a job in Nursing. There is also an Associate’s Degree in Nursing Program that takes 66 weeks to complete and gets you the qualification of being an RN.
